The Duchess Wears Emilia Wickstead for Charity Polo Match – What Kate Wore

[ad_1]

The Duchess of Cambridge wore Emilia Wickstead for a charity polo match today.

The Out-Sourcing Inc. Royal Charity Polo Cup 2022 was at Guards Polo Club in Windsor. The late Duke of Edinburgh was the club’s first president.

Also attending the match: Orla, seen in the photo above. Orla is the Cambridge family’s cocker spaniel.  More from My London’s story

The couple were joined by their black cocker spaniel, Orla, who was given to them shortly before the death of their beloved pet, Lupo. The family brought Orla home shortly before Lupo passed away. “They were devastated when Lupo passed away,” a source previously told the Daily Mail. “It was hoped that a younger dog would give Lupo some company and give him a little more life and energy.”

Orla was raised by Catherine’s brother, James Middleton, who announced in Spring 2020 that his dog, Luna, had given birth to a litter of six puppies.

In this shot, the Duchess may be giving Orla a treat; it is hard to tell.

The match raised money and awareness for ten charities supported by the Duke and Duchess: SHOUT, The Foundling Museum, The Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust, London’s Air Ambulance, Mountain Rescue England and Wales, The Anna Freud Centre, Family Action, The Forward Trust, East Anglia Children’s Hospice (EACH) and The Passage.

Reports say a million pounds was raised for the charities.

The Duchess presented the awards and trophies.

Trophies were shaped like Samurai helmets.

Then it was time for a group photo.

Here is a brief video of the awards presentation.

Another view.

And one more view of the Duchess.

Now for our look at what Kate wore. She was in an Emilia Wickstead design from the 2019 resort collection, a collection Ms. Wickstead said was “…influenced by French ’60s movies,” according to Vogue’s review of the collection.

More specifically, the Duchess wore the Denvella Belted Dress. It is crafted of cream cloqué fabric, a material with a raised texture referred to as ‘waffled’ in this garment’s description; the material is 95% polyester and 5% elastane. The sleeveless dress features a round neck, detachable belt, concealed hook-and-eye with zipper fastening on the back, and distinctive black crepe piping.

The Duchess debuted a new pair of slingback sandals by British shoe and accessory brand Camilla Elphick. Thank you to Chantelle for a terrific ID; this is not a brand I would have looked at when searching for the shoes.

The ‘Alicia’ style ($255) point-toe slingback features a tan and black color scheme with a small notch and cross-stitch detail on the upper, and an oversized pearl buckle (a signature for the brand) on the strap.

Here are a few other items showing the buckle.

Camilla Elphick describes itself as a “luxurious sustainable shoes & accessories” firm. We learn more from a D&D London interview with Ms. Elphick

I launched my brand in 2014 at London Fashion Week at Somerset House in the Designer Showrooms.

Sustainability has always been at the heart of my brand. In 2015 we won an award from Positive Luxury for our sustainability credentials. I have always sourced our leathers and materials we use from the start and I know our complete supply chain from start to finish. I know who makes every part of our shoes and I love that.

Below, a photo of the designer.

Ms. Elphick also notes on the brand’s site, “We are an all-female team who specialise in footwear and accessories and we are hugely fortunate that we love what we do. I feel very proud that we have created numerous collections that have become beautiful heirlooms in our customers’ closets and give her that little something extra when she walks into a room.”

The Duchess also sported a new pair of earrings. With thanks to Danielle for the ID, they look like the Gabrielle Earrings ($70) from French retailer Sézane. The earrings are resin with gold-plated brass hardware.

And she wore the Finley Henrietta sunglasses again today.
